Lahore: The Punjab Excise Department has announced an innovative initiative to curb property tax evasion. Under this new program, individuals reporting tax evasion will be eligible for a 20% cash reward from the fines collected.

Reward Program Details

The program is open to both citizens and department employees, encouraging broader participation in the fight against tax fraud. The reward system provides a financial incentive to whistleblowers, empowering them to assist in identifying and reporting instances of property tax evasion.

Government Approval and Penalties

The initiative was approved by the provincial cabinet as part of a wider strategy to enhance tax compliance and strengthen enforcement measures. Tax offenders caught evading property taxes will face fines equivalent to the amount of tax they avoided.
