NAB’s New Facilitation Cell for Overseas Pakistanis Addressing Housing Society Scams A Platform for Expats to Resolve Property Disputes Unified Platform for Real Estate Stakeholders Call for Specialized Courts for Overseas Pakistanis Commending NAB’s Investigation Teams Improving Transparency and Efficiency
In a bid to address the ongoing property-related grievances of Overseas Pakistanis, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced the creation of a dedicated Facilitation Cell. This initiative is part of NAB's larger efforts to streamline the resolution of property disputes and improve public service delivery for expatriates.
The announcement was made during a special ceremony held at NAB Lahore’s office on Thursday. During the event, NAB Chairman Lt-Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed distributed allocation letters and cheques to the victims of housing society scams. He stressed the importance of resolving property issues for Overseas Pakistanis, many of whom face prolonged delays and complex legal processes when dealing with property disputes in Pakistan.
The new Facilitation Cell will serve as a dedicated platform for Overseas Pakistanis to report property-related issues and seek assistance in resolving their cases. NAB’s chairman emphasized that this initiative would expedite the resolution process and ensure fair outcomes for expats dealing with property challenges.
In addition to the Facilitation Cell, the NAB chairman revealed plans to create a unified platform to bring together real estate developers, regulators, and other stakeholders. The goal is to streamline project approvals and development timelines, reducing delays in the real estate sector.
During his speech, NAB’s Chairman also called on the government to establish specialized courts in Lahore to expedite legal proceedings related to property cases involving Overseas Pakistanis. Such courts would help speed up the legal processes and provide quicker resolutions to the disputes faced by expats.
The ceremony, attended by officials including NAB Lahore’s Director General Amjad Majeed Aulakh, also saw NAB’s Chairman commend the efforts of the bureau’s investigation teams. These teams have been instrumental in resolving long-standing property disputes, and their efforts were acknowledged during the event.
The establishment of the new Facilitation Cell is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and transparency of property dispute resolution for Overseas Pakistanis. With these new initiatives, NAB aims to offer better services to expatriates and enhance accountability in the real estate sector.
